Skeptic Causes Collapse of Climate Talks

This is the most refreshing news in quite a while.

Lord Monckton, P.M. Margaret Thatcher's science advisor, addressed the group and many -- for the first time -- heard the science behind the skeptics' case. Chaos ensued.

As the Russian news service reported,
The 18th Climate Change Summit in Doha is drawing to an end after once again failing to find common consensus on what it calls a major threat to human existence. Failure seemed inevitable after climate skeptic Lord Monckton crashed the event.
With less than a day left in the marathon 11-day UN summit being held in Doha, Qatar, the delegates in attendance are no closer to finding a solution to the current stalemate on climate change. The two-week meeting is due to end this Friday, and will likely end in deadlock.

I'm always amused that, to climate alarmists, presenting the other side is defined as "crashing" the event.

There is much more at WattsUpWithThat.

Addition from Dr. Roger Pielke, Jr. Entire piece here.

Anyone who'd like to argue that the world is experiencing a "new normal" with respect to tropical cyclones is simply mistaken. Over the past 4 years, the world is actually in the midst of a very low period in tropical cyclone landfalls -- at least as measured over the past 43 years.

Note to new readers: I believe that humans, on balance, warm the atmosphere. But, there is nothing catastrophic about it. I also believe there are far more important environmental problems (lack of drinkable water, malaria in Africa) that are more readily solvable than "global warming."
